Statement
My work contemplates autobiography within landscapes of personal significance.
Memories and drawings form the basis of my prints.
One evening in June 2023, I had been outside in my garden in Dunfermline, admiring the evening sky when I noticed the moon was a beautiful shade of pink, it was a Strawberry Moon. This was the starting point of my series of prints, Lunar Love.
Chine-colle is used to give a luminescent quality to the variety of moons featured in these etched prints. When it is a full moon, I enjoy the calming influence of this lone celestial orb and seek to recreate the same calmness through the colour palette in the Lunar Love series.
