This oil painting on canvas board shows me in one of my favourite places in Glasgow since relocating to here from South Africa in 1996 with my Scottish husband and young family. Kibble Palace at the Botanical Gardens has been a wonderful place to simply sit amongst familiar vegetation and warmth, especially in the winter months. The classical sculpture is a comment on the colonial aspect of my heritage and my struggle with adapting to life in Europe.
