AT THE EDGE OF THE PATH WILD FLOWERS GREW
I have always loved finding wild flowers – even common flowers like buttercups are beautiful. Walking the Cleveland Way in Spring I was amazed by the variety of wild flowers growing along the track, and felt that I had to express this in a painting.
I aimed to make the marks rich and textured and colourful, using thick paint, knives, scrapers, sticks, whatever I could find to leave the impression of the rich tapestry of flowers and grasses.
