The inspiration for this painting came from an old black and white photo I found of myself at 5years old. Looking at the photo I thought how vulnerable I looked and how I would have liked to have been able to look out for myself with the hindsight of experience gained since.
So I put my adult self armed with paint brushes ready to defend my younger self from some of the pitfalls awaiting later in life.
I like the idea that a painting can make the impossible happen.
