I created this mixed media piece after learning that cockroaches are often referred to as nature’s professional recyclers because of their ability to use and repurpose any materials they encounter. Their ethos is something that I can appreciate given the style of my own artistic practice. I wanted to illustrate the mystery and entanglement that often surrounds basic day to day survival, whatever the species
