'we are all refugees' is a poetry print containing lines from a poem called 'Fierce' about my eldest daughter's first experience of racism at two-years-old from the collections 'pigeon with warburtons' (Speculative Books, 2019) and 'Colour Theory' (Dreich, 2022). The poem reveals her fierce character in dealing with the situation with dignity and courage, echoing the strength and determination of Mary Barbour and Jimmy Reid, and standing up to her abuser, who was also a child, highlighting prejudices being passed down from previous generations.
