Elizabeth Taylor

Elizabeth Taylor, Drawing
Elizabeth Taylor
This is a pointillist black and white ink drawing on smooth, thin quality card of Elizabeth Taylor in the film The Taming of the Shrew. It is made up entirely of tiny dots of ink; even the dark background was done this way as it wouldn't have looked consistent otherwise. I used a very fine 0.13 technical isograph pen. How many dots? Who knows, 100-150,000 minimum, maybe. Probably more. It took several months to complete, and was an exercise in patience and determination to keep it going. One overuse of the 'dot' process would have ruined the picture. I'm an extensively published poet with many books to my name, (check my website and other online info) but I'm now trying things with visual art as well. This is the first time I've put a picture up for sale. I share an art studio at Wasps in central Glasgow.
