Headlights
Headlights is a lino piece featuring a discarded deer in a plaine. This piece was inspired by a set of lyrics by the artist Kiki Rockwell with their song "Burn Your Village". The lyrics read; "You do not dance every day with the fear, of living in headlights, the hunted, the deer." I went for a striking and literal design for this as the interpretation of this song is focused on the control men have in this society over women, and the strength that is often dismissed. We as women live in fear day to day, thus can feel like a deer in headlights when confronted with everyday misogyny.
