Statement
I find being out and experiencing the elements to be invaluable in capturing both tone and atmosphere. Works are created in oils over one or more plein air sessions; usually they are finished on site, sometimes they need refining, however, the main essence of the picture is always there. I want to capture vivid colours, and bring a sense of optimism and beauty to my paintings, as this is what attracts me to a scene.
