StatementI prefer pastels because of the wide range of pre-mixed colour variations and soft appearance of the finished work. My main aim is to produce a warm naturalistic effect; through colour, light and tonal values.
The variety of pastel colours provides me with a greater sense of creativity; while working across different genres and locations stimulates my imagination.
From the Clyde coast and Hebridean Islands, to Paris and Venice; each location has its own unique characteristics that I aim to capture. I hope my work demonstrates the flexibility of my chosen medium.
