Statement
Picturing Paisley is a photography collective of six Artists operating and working in Renfrewshire as a self funded group. Together we explore photography as a medium for the positive enhancement of Paisley and Renfrewshire. We achieve this through spotlighting the communities, history, events and businesses in the area in our photographs.
We originally formed as part of a community funded project and enjoyed making photographic work together, continuing to learn and support one another as our artistic diversity developed. Our artwork is far reaching, particularly our efforts to highlight Paisley and its townscape and heritage. We often use street furniture to offer impromptu exhibitions for the people of Renfrewshire as we believe that photographic art is a strong ambassador for artistic development and is a medium that is accessible to everyone wishing to begin an artistic journey.
We love that our shared enthusiasm for photography allows us to express our admiration for the culture and society in which we live and look forward to our continued expansion into using our photos in innovative ways to promote artistic inclusion and all that Paisley has to offer to the wider world.
