Statement

I am a Canadian-British painter living in Scotland.

I primarily paint modern landscapes. The natural world is hugely important to me and the emotional connection that comes from a closeness with nature.

I create maximalist paintings that are often unworldly with dreamlike qualities. The work oscillates between realism and abstraction using my memory and imagination. The colours are bold and vibrant, and the process of layering paint is very important in my work. My work serves as a timeline, connecting me to different places physically and emotionally throughout my life.

I studied fine art at York University in Toronto, Canada, where I completed a BFA in 2009. I have taken part in several exhibitions in the UK and Canada and my work can be found in numerous private and public art collections across the UK and North America.
