Statement
Odette Lavansch.
I graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1978 with a DA.
After a career teaching Art and Design for 39 years I am now developing my personal approach to drawing and painting. I love working with oil paints as well as soft pastels and acrylic. I enjoy capturing my own photographs for reference, as well as sketchbook work and Plein air.
I take inspiration from the integration of wildlife and nature with urban environments and continue to challenge myself in exploring colour, texture and light by studying a variety of subjects; from portraiture to botanicals, landscape and the animal kingdom.
I am an artist member of Paisley Art Institute and recently received the Parallel Visions award, and Milngavie Art Club where I received the Flora Wood award .
