Statement
My paintings are based on three elements: the expressive power of colours, the organic shapes of nature and the pull of the subconscious. Mystery is at the heart of all of them. I paint intuitively, with no preliminary sketches or plans. To start, my only choices are a limited colour palette, the size and the type of surface - paper, canvas or wooden panel. The subject or theme will appear as the work progresses, and it usually evokes elements of the natural world: the sky, rivers, clouds, the rain, oceans.
